The Prayer by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli

The Answer

In everything that we do, in every aspect of our lives, in every activity that we do, we find some problems that abound in it. I would like to feature the song "The Prayer', originally recorded by Canadian singing superstar, Miss Celine Dion and Italian singer Andrea Bocelli.

This is Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli performing their hit song live at the 'Power of Love Gala" on June 14, 2015.

The song has a special meaning to myself as it really touches my soul whenever I hear it. Not only because I like Celine so much as my favorite female singing artist but because the message of the song is truly a universal one.

Back in December 1998, when Celine Dion released a Christmas album entitled, "These Are Special Times" which features yuletide songs including "The Prayer" and this song was a soundtrack of the movie, "Quest for Camelot". On the same month of that year, I was supposed to travel in Davao City to spend my vacation but I opted to stay home so that I could watch the Television Special of Celine Dion.

On that particular show, Celine rendered a very powerful performance for every song that she sang. She had also visitors on the show like Rosie Odonell whom she had poked fun with. They both sang the song, "Do you hear what I hear."

Her last guest was Andrea Bocelli, who is an Italian tenor whom she had sang, The Prayer. Celine said and I quote, "If God would have a singing voice, he must sound a lot like Andrea Bocelli." Truly, it was a nice experience for me to watch the show as it was very worth it. I wasn't sorry for not spending my vacation to Davao City. Well, you may ask where did I live back in 1998? I was living at Cabugan, Tandag, Surigao Del Sur at that time a place near to the market place where my brother in-law had a store to earn a living.

Well, what I said earlier are only introduction to the main point that I would like to stress about. Since, there are many people nowadays suffering from depression and peer pressure, I would to suggest with the following things.

  1. Always bear in mind that you are born unique into this world. All of us are born with different state in life. Whether you like it or not, there is a thing as poor and rich in this world. Economically speaking, this phenomena is called, unequal distribution of wealth. Can we do something about it? Yes, we can. How? The answer lies in your hands. If we belong to a family that is less fortunate, remember the quote, "Poverty is not a hindrance to success." All of us are born with equal chances in life. No matter what conditions you are in life right now, our creator had given you enough intellect to use for. Never compare yourself to someone else since we are all unique in our own way. In this case, we have to strive harder to reach our goals in life.

 2. Do not entertain negative thoughts in your mind. Having negative thoughts in your mind does not help at all. It can only compound the depression that you are experiencing. Instead of having yourself drown with many negative thoughts, why not make yourself busy for in that way you can have a peace of mind. What do I mean with this? There are many worthwhile activities wherein you can engage yourself so as to keep you away from negative thinking. If you like sports, go on---play with it. If you like music like myself than I would highly recommend for you to listen the music of my favorite artist, Miss Celine Dion. Here is a video of one of my favorite songs performed by Celine.

  3. Lastly, the ultimate answer to all our problems is prayer. When we confide all our problems to the Almighty, everything shall be alright. He answers prayer and never delays as long as you ask wholeheartedly with a good motive.
