Everybody Hurts
Challenges on the Go
"Every one of us in this world has a path to take. Whether we like or not as long as you live in this world, you need to survive."
As we were born into this world, our parents had a very wonderful feeling as they have heard our cries. It gives them a feeling of satisfaction. What a joy indeed for a couple to see the existence of their child in this world.
Life then continues to develop as the child grows up. Proper care and guidance are then given by the parents to make the child grow healthy and acquire the right values that should have started in the family.
As the child grows up to maturity, it is understood that he should stand on his own) although the parents have to guide him in every decision that he has to take. Likewise, in every walk of choice to be taken, there is an apparent good or bad result. So, it is important to consult the family first before anyone has to make a decision.
As we know, in every facet of life, there is always a challenge that everyone went through. In different forms, maybe big or small a challenge is if it is mishandled then negative emotions rage on. Depression is one of the most prevalent social issues nowadays. Many teenagers especially tend to commit suicide because of the inability to bear their sorrows. I remember the film, Last Night, top-billed by Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga where I find it very relevant and awakening for me as a person.
This is the official movie poster of the said film, released by Star Cinema last October 2017. It stars Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga, directed by Miss Joyce Bernal, written by Miss Bella Padilla. (Credit to the owner of the above image)
The story of the movie has a very positive effect on me since the two lead stars are my favorites who pulled out each other's characters superbly. Despite the negative reviews garnered by this film, it grossed well at the box office. Talking about the storyline of this movie, I appreciate how the characters showed the courage to correct their mistakes in life and prevent the worst things to happen. The primary concern of this film is to tackle social issues that affect many in our country or the world nowadays.
To those who have seen the movie already, I admire the character of Jennifer aka Carmina. After she commits suicide in 1973, her soul couldn't enter the heavenly realms due to the act she committed but she was luckily given a chance to save souls who are depressed and led them to a better perspective in life. She has indeed successfully convinced and helped Mark Peters not to end his life for there are greater things that await it. The last scene is very hurtful for me as the two leads who developed a love for themselves have to separate ways. The impact of the film for me as I have said earlier is very positive. It is explained by Carmina's character that committing suicide does no good for anyone.
What is then the right thing to do, when depression comes?
Here are some of my lists and I hope you do apply them to yourselves.
1. Share your burdens. Cling to someone you can trust to share whatever you feel. It would be best to share it with your family since the best source of help here on earth are your family members.
2. Avoid things that hurt you. In the first place, why are we hurt? Is it not our own choice that leads us to that stage? If you know already to yourselves the possible outcome of your action better not to take it. But if you are a risk-taker and just go with the flow of life--go on.
3. Take time to relax; listen to your favorite music, and eat your favorite foods. Since I am a Celine Dion fanatic, I recommend her music for you to listen to. I remember Prince Albert of Monaco who said these words back in the World Music Awards Ceremony in 2007.
"I have a distinct honor to present an award to an incredible lady. For decades, she has continued to amaze the world with her thrilling talent, with literally hundreds of millions of albums in print. Her contribution to music is as potent as a courageous voice. I'm talking about the incomparable, Celine Dion. Celine, I know, I speak on behalf of everyone when I tell you the true voice which is a force of nature transformed more than entertained. It exudes our hearts and creates smiles of love across people of the face of the earth. In the world that is unstable and scarier at times, how lucky we are to have you with us and to have with us this total force, who is truly a light into our world." --Prince Albert of Monaco as he introduced Celine to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.
4. Lastly, the best thing to do is to pray to God. Along with these, you need to bond with your spiritual leaders for them to give you guidance and pray for you. Remember that God is the ultimate source of life, happiness, and love.
